Research interests:

I am fascinated by the developmental and physiological mechanisms used by plants to cope with abiotic stress, particularly those caused by climate change. The aims of my research in the Morris lab are to 1) examine the adaptive role of dhurrin, a cyanogenic secondary metabolite under drought stress and 2) explore the functionality of bio-condensates in Sorghum.

As part of the USAID SMIL Durable Adaptation team, my overarching goal is to improve the drought tolerance of sorghum germplasm.
