My research interests surround the challenges of predicting crop fitness using genetic sequence data. In particular, I aim to incorporate information concerning biological and evolutionary constraints to predict fitness responses to new environments. Immediately, my work assists Hatian breeding programs to understand the genetic basis of Sugarcane Aphid resistance and drought tolerance in their populations.
