Research interests:

My research interest are on bridging knowledge of the metabolic pathways to agronomically important traits for crop improvement through breeding. My role in the Crop Adaptation Lab is to characterize variation in candidate genes and leverage them into molecular markers to deploy in breeding programs. The aim of my research is to 1) identify functional mutations, 2) identify donor parental lines, 3) develop molecular makers.

As part of the ILCI Trait Discovery team, I work with Centers of Innovation to identify or develop germplasm through genetics that go beyond yield, so that they can provide better nutrition and adaptation to their growing environments.
